Meet The Bee First Staff

The staff of Bee First Primary Home Care & Hospice is made up of highly-trained health care professionals who have delivered the highest level of palliative and hospice care since 1994. Our dedicated team of palliative and hospice physicians, nurses, therapists, counselors and leading specialists will keep you comfortable, manage your symptoms and ensure you are able to spend quality time with loved ones.

 

We understand the importance of individualized care and work with each patient and their families to create a network of attention and support. Read the biographies below to become better acquainted with the members of our leadership team.

Beatrice Mesquias, CEO/Owner

 

Beatrice Mesquias is the current CEO and owner of Bee First Primary Home Care & Hospice, Inc. After graduating from Del Mar College in 1965 as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, she joined the staff of Memorial Medical Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1976, Beatrice began working at Riverside Hospital in Calallen and became a Certified Medical Care Analyst. She prepared Utilization Management Reviews and reviewed Medicaid and Medicare patients’ charts to determine if all services were provided in accordance with diagnosis and respective criteria.

 

Beatrice also worked with hospital administration to determine if patients’ diagnosis met criteria for admission. In 1987, she became Director of Quality Assurance at Retama Manor where she supervised the nursing staff and prepared Infection Control Reports. Beatrice and her husband moved to Harlingen in 1994 and opened Bee First Primary Home Care a year later.

 

She has been married to Richard Mesquias, Sr. for 51 years and the two have four sons, along with ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One of Beatrice’s many accomplishments is serving as the current President of the Baptist Hispanic Women’s Missionary Union for the State of Texas. She enjoys missionary work and serves with the Rio Grande Valley Baptist Association.

 

 

Tera Mesquias-Williams, Chief Operations Officer

Tera is a newly Licensed Vocational Nurse with an extensive background in Quality Assurance and Health Care. She has been an employee with our company for more than 10 years. She has served as medical records supervisor, Home Health Manager and is currently working in our Hospice as Quality Assurance Supervisor and Field Nurse.

 

Tera is dedicated to quality care and is an advocate for our patients. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors degree in Science and Nursing.

 

 

 

Marcus Williams, Senior Chief of Operations

 

Marcus, a North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native, moved to Harlingen, Texas and joined the Bee First Primary Home Care team in 2003. He worked in the company’s Billing Department for three years before becoming Billing Supervisor. His hunger for new knowledge and diversity led to a promotion in the company’s Physician’s Community Liaison Department where he excelled for two years.

 

In 2010, Marcus became a part of the company’s Administration Department as Alternate Administrator. He would later be named Senior Chief of Operations, the position he presently holds. Since taking the position, Bee First has added three new Branch locations (McAllen, San Antonio and San Marcos) and Hospice to the scope of services provided. Marcus and the Bee First staff are dedicated and committed to serving our community with dignity, compassion and respect.
